Into The Wild

I read this book, hoping for the amazing story of Christopher McCandless to be explained. The story was, but honestly I thought it was very difficult and confusing to follow the story.

Christopher McCandless was a young man who loved to travel, and he decided to head out on an Alaskan adventure into the bush to live off the land by himself. The story is truly inspiring. Unfortunately, this book was not what I was expecting.

The story in itself is incredible, and although some people may think that Jon Krakauer portrayed it almost perfectly, I do not believe so. I think he jumped around too much which made the desire to read this book fall away. I would have liked the story better if it were more straight to the point, without all the confusing, extra details. I did not believe that they were necessary for this book. Others, however, may enjoy them.

For me, I would rate this book a 4/10.

Misfits

My boyfriend and I just recently finished this show and all I can say is wow. Misfits is probably one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. It also may be one of the weirdest and most messed up. This show is incredibly inappropriate and may be offensive, so I'll let you be the judge of whether you should watch it or not. But I loved it!

The show is about five people who are on community service for various reasons. During a terrible storm they all get various powers (immortality, the power to make anyone want to have sex with you, etc.). The show follows them through community service killing off many probation workers, monstrous people, and of course there's a little bit of love involved.

Eventually the characters of the show will be completely changed to new characters and new actors, but it works out nicely and the new characters are just as good as the old ones. This show is definitely getting an A+ from me!

November Review

What? No posts in November? No posts since October 6? What is happening?
I'm terribly sorry to anyone who may be viewing my blog. The last month and a half have been a very busy and stressful time. I have not had the time to sit down and work on stuff for my blog. But from now on I will try to post more often!

October Review

Here are all the subjects that I covered in October:

  • Song of the Week (week 7)
  • Running From The Law (book)
  • Chug Milk Shakes (drink)

Chug Milk Shakes

I am drinking one of these as I type. I have never tried vanilla, and I'm not really impressed with Cookies 'n' Cream, but the chocolate chug milkshakes are amazing! I'm a huge fan of them and I'm pretty much addicted. They're a little pricey, so it's a treat for me when I get one. And it's so delicious that it can be considered a treat! It has a rich chocolate favor, and it's like drinking thicker milk.

If you're a chocolate milk lover, try this!

Running From The Law

Running From The Law by Lisa Scottoline is a book about a woman who is defending her boyfriend's father in a murder case. This book isn't one of the best books I've ever read, but it was worth reading. The story was pretty good, and I wasn't extremely disappointed or anything.

Where Mercy Is Shown, Mercy Is Given

This is the second post about a book by The Dog. Absolutely wonderful. Completely fantastic. An awesome story. This guy has actually had an extremely interesting life, and it's really cool to get to know about him on so many levels, just from reading his books.

To anyone who likes The Dog or likes his show, you should definitely read this. Even if you're someone who simply likes to read autobiographies, READ THIS ONE. It's really good.

Django Unchained

I can say I've seen this movie at least 10 times in the past year. It's a long movie, but it's so worth watching. It's definitely in my top 10 favorite movies.

Django is a movie about a slave who begins working with a bounty hunter. This movie is completely and totally badass (sorry to offend anyone, but it's the only way I can describe it). There's a lot of guns and action and all that cool stuff, but there's also a subtle love story involved so it's good for both crowds of people.

Seriously, I'm surprised I didn't write about this movie sooner, and it's definitely a movie that my readers should check out.

Let me know what you think!

Slow Internet

What's worse than not having internet at all? Slow internet. It's kind of like having no internet but it teases you a little bit. Sometimes it'll work great and then all of a sudden Facebook won't even load.

I currently have VERY slow internet and I won't have better internet until next month, so this months posts are going to be very minimum, if any at all.

Next month Song of the Week will be back, and updated weekly, and more reviews will be on their way!

Sunset By The Pool Fragrance Mist

Sunset By The Pool, a Bath and Body Works products, is my all-time favorite perfume right now. I've been wearing it every day. It has an absolutely lovely smell to it, and it's lasts for quite some time. Although, I can never get enough! It just smells so good. Definitely a 10 for me.

Death Rounds

This book is definitely a medical thriller all right. I think there is a first book before this, but even if you just read this one you won't be lost. This book was a slow go for me, but I finally finished it, and I was definitely satisfied with what I had read.

If you're interested in Grey's Anatomy or House, along with a little horror, you would definitely enjoy this book. I'd have to rate it a little low, just because it was a slow going book for me.

Kittens!

My boyfriends cat recently had two kittens!

Prize Claw

Prize Claw is pretty much a crane machine in your pocket. Collecting prjzes and completing goals is so much fun and it's completely free. Use power ups to collect multiple prizes at once, or make your claw stronger!

This game also allows you to turn your prizes in for rewards, like bonus coins, experience, or other power ups!

There is also a goal to this game to keep it more fun, which is completing puzzles like the one above!

It's definitely a lot of fun and any of you crane machine addicts should play this game!

Links coming tomorrow.

Gold Miner

If you haven't played this game, you didn't have an awesome childhood. I remember playing this game all the time as a kid, and it's been my recent addiction.

Basically, you have to use the arrow keys and collect a certain amount of gold in a certain amount of time. And it's pretty fun. Play it.

Piano Tiles

If you haven't heard of piano tiles yet, you've been hiding under a rock. This game is so awesome. Piano Tiles is a game you can download in your app store! The object of the game is to only tap the black tiles. You have 5 different options of games (classic, arcade, zen, rush, relay), and each option has three options (ex: arcade has normal, faster, and reverse).

I really can't explain it any more than that, but try the app out! It's the new addicting game that's been going around. And it's so fun!

StumbleUpon

The other day I was on the internet and stumbled upon this website called StumbleUpon which has helped me stumble upon multiple awesome websites!

This website allows you to choose from a list of interests, and you simply click a button and it will pull up a new website that has something to do with one of your interests!

This website has really helped me explore the internet in an extremely awesome way. It also allows you to save your favorite pages in groups on the website!

StumbleUpon also has an app, although I'm not a huge fan of it. I think it's a little more difficult to use and loads way slower.

Inkvite

Yesterday was the day that I discovered Inkvite. This app is pretty awesome.

The app allows you to write stories for others to read, or to keep to yourself. My favorite part about the app is that you can take part in writing stories with other people. You choose a genre (standard genres shown below) and begin writing a story, or join another person's story! Everyone involved will have a character limit for each turn, and each story has a specified limit of turns.

This app also allows you to read, rate, and review stories, as written on the picture below.

If you're a fan of writing, want something new to try, or would like to read other people's stories, check out this app! I've really been enjoying it.

My Point...And I Do Have One

I bought this book, and I was extremely excited because I absolutely love Ellen Degeneres, but I was really disappointed. I thought this book was hard to follow and didn't really make a lot of sense, but it may just be me that can't really understand it.

I do want to read her next book, and see if I like it better than this one though, I will not be discouraged!

Allegiant

I finished Allegiant a while back, and here is my review for the whole Divergent series:

IT WAS AWESOME. Somehow, the ending wasn't quite so disappointing as it could be for some people, but I was satisfied with the ending for some reason.

Overall, this series was awesome. I didn't expect it to end the way that it did, along with other different parts that I never concluded were going to happen. The love and the hate, the war and the peace, everything about this series is absolutely perfect.

Weeds

I finished Weeds a while back and decided it's about time to do a review on it.

If you can't figure out what this show is about on your own, then I'm not sure what to tell you. But it really is a great show. Basically, Nancy is a drug dealer and she's trying to keep up that lifestyle while being a good mom and keeping her kids out of it, which really isn't working out very well.

The show in itself is awesome, it has so much suspense. Around the fourth or fifth season it starts to drag a little bit, but getting through that and finishing the show is worth it.

Seriously, this show had the most satisfying ending that I've ever seen, and I definitely recommend ages 16+ watching it.

Thrift Books

I've been waiting to do a review on this website and now I finally can! I just recently ordered a book from this website, and I am absolutely satisfied with my order.

Thrift Books has warehouses in Connecticut, Oregon, and a few other states. When you purchase a book, you are able to choose which warehouse you want it shipped from. This allows you to get them closer to your state, so shipping takes less time. The books are used, but the one I ordered was in awesome condition.

Another awesome thing about Thrift Books is that they have pretty much everything. From text books and calendars to young adult, you can find pretty much whatever you're looking for. A lot of the prices are $4 and under!

Thrift Books also has a "Bargain Basement" where they have books on sale, and they're usually about $3. They also have a "Deals" section, where you can get 3 Stephen King books, 3 Dean Koontz, the 3 Lord of the Rings books, 3 Heather Graham books, and more for only $8!

This site is one of my favorites, and I'll continue to shop there. Definitely check it out!

Insurgent

I just completed the second book of the Insurgent series, and it was wonderful. If you've read my review on Divergent, then I have pretty much the same exact things to say about it.

I loved the ending and I cannot wait to read the next book. The ending to this book was perfect.

I'll have more to say about the whole series in itself once I read Allegiant and post the next review.

Divergent

I had heard a lot of wonderful things about this series, so I finally decided it was time to read it. I thought Divergent was a great book, with tons of different elements to it, which is fantastic.

I love the division between the factions, and their different ways of living, and all their different beliefs, but how those can all tie together as well. I just love the action in this book, the bravery, the different trials, I honestly can't say enough good things about it. It was a wonderful story, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

The Wolf of Wall Street

This is probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. My boyfriend asked me to watch it with him, and I didn't even want to finish it. The movie is full of sex and drugs, and that's literally all that it is.

And that's all I have to say about it.

Limelight

Limelight is an awesome app that I downloaded. You basically search movies, they have pretty much everything, and add them to your different shelves. They have a "Watched" shelf where you add all of the movies that you have seen, which also allows you to rate them. They also have a "To Watch" shelf where you can add all of the movies that you want to see!

This app also has a genre search. While searching movies you can scroll through genres like comedy, animation, horror, etc.!

It's really great and easy to navigate this app, and a great way to keep track of movies.

Winter Candy Apple lotion (Bath and Body Works scent!)

I have found that winter candy apple is a WONDERFUL scent! I've actually only tried the lotion, but it's awesome and so convenient. If you get the smaller lotion it fits in a purse without taking up too much room, and it makes my hands feels so moisturized. And the smell will literally be through the whole room.

I personally love Bath and Body Works products, and I think they're totally worth the money.

Definitely look into this if you're trying to find a new lotion!

Whales of the World

Today I finished reading Whales of the World by Nigel Bonner. I have always been fascinated with whales, so this book was very interesting to me! I also like to find the time to read a non-fiction book every once in a while.

I would suggest finding a more up-to-date book for anyone that's not reading it for fun.

I don't feel the need to explain this book, because I feel like the title explains everything! It's all about whales!

Where The Red Fern Grows

Growing up I had never been interested in this book. Finally, I decided to read it. I don't regret it.

Where The Red Fern Grows is about a boy who longs to own two hunting dogs, so he works very hard over the next two years to save up enough money to get them. As the story continues, he goes through hard trials, and the ending is so upsetting but satisfying.

It's not a long book, and it's a really great book. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading. I think everyone should read it at least once.

Frozen

Living in Maine and having constant snow right now, it seemed fit to do a review over this movie. Which was wonderful, I might add.

I loved how true love was shown in this movie. It was unlike any other Disney movie, and I think they did a phenomenal job with it. The characters were perfect. The innocent, the icy queen, and of course, the adorable, hilarious snowman.

Seriously though, Olaf is my favorite Disney character of all time.

I recommend this movie to anyone ages 0+. It was incredible, and a great movie for anyone to watch.

Rating: 10/10. Great job, Disney! As of right now, Frozen is the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

Can't Get There From Here

This book by Todd Strasser is about life on the streets, about how challenging it is. It deeply saddens me to know that there are people out there like this, young and on the streets because their family doesn't want them.

This book is an eye-opener, I think, and it's very short and to the point. I'd recommend this book to young adults, or honestly anyone who is snobby towards the homeless.

Rate: 7/10.

Ashfall

This book was awesome. Mike Mullin writes a story that is horrifying, just because of the pure fact that it's about something that could actually happen.

In the book, a teenage boy has to travel across Iowa through an ashfall to find his family after the Yellowstone volcano erupts. He faces difficult challenges, while meeting new people on the way, including a girl that he falls in love with.

This is a series, although I've only been lucky enough to read the first one. I'd recommend this book to anyone. It was truly fantastic.

Shutterfly

I am personally a huge fan of Shutterfly. It has some perks, but at the same time it doesn't.

I enjoy the fact that I can sit at home, upload my pictures to Shutterfly, and have them printed and shipped out. I also like that they often send out offers, a lot of times allowing 50% off more expensive items such as photo books, or giving away 101 free photos to all of their users.

One thing I dislike about this site is that it takes a very long time to receive your order. It usually takes two or three weeks, which isn't always ideal. Another problem is checking the cropping on each individual picture to make sure that important elements won't be cut out when the photos are printed.

This site is slightly convenient, and is really helpful in making calendars and photo books, but it's not convenient time-wise.

Bubble Spinner

I literally have never gotten tired of this game. It's like a difficult bubble shooter, which makes it a lot more fun and addicting.

I've managed to clear on the bubbles on the first round once. While this is frustrating, it also keeps me going, trying to get farther than I've made it before.

If you're a fan of bubble shooter, or you're just looking for a way to pass some time, this is a great game to play.

Deathbringer

I bought this book thinking it was going to be a fantastic book about zombies, and I was really excited about it. It is about zombies, and it is a very good book, but it's also a little weird.

There are a lot of inappropriate parts to this book, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under the age of 17.

In the story, a girl is murdered, and she becomes the Prime to the Deathbringer. In order to stop the zombies from spreading, she must be killed, along with the Deathbringer. This is a book full of horror and deceit, and it really is worth reading.

Diva

Diva by Alex Flinn is the second book to Breathing Underwater. This book is about Caitlin's home life and how she does at her new school.

I didn't really like this book as much as the first one, but it wasn't a bad book! It was actually pretty good! The first book just seemed more interesting and suspenseful to me. This book also contained some teenager text where "tlking lyke dis" kind of happened in a way.

Breathing Underwater

The book Breathing Underwater by Alex Flinn is a story about a boy, Nick, age sixteen, who turns out to be abusive towards his girlfriend. The book is about the counseling that he went through, and the changes in his life, with journal entries to tell the whole before counseling story.

I just finished reading this book for the fourth time, and it's still as good as it was the first time. It didn't take me long to read through because I also want to know what's going to happen next. The story in itself something that some people could relate to, so I recommend this for anyone who has been in an abusive relationship, or anyone who reads young adult books.

Paper Towns

Paper Towns by John Green was a wonderful book. I love John Green and have been addicted to his books since I read Looking For Alaska.

This book is about a girl who disappears and her childhood friend has to find her by following her clues.

I read through this book really quickly. It was really great and exciting, but also very moving. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys young adult books, and any Tumblr users.
